The C2P Wiegand Bridge enables users to now enroll a wide range of IP devices into their existing Access Control System. This capability preserves and enhances the user’s investment in their access control system by providing a bridge between IP enabled devices within their security enterprise and their existing access control system.
- Users enroll facial IDs, License Plates, RFID tags, Barcodes directly into their Access Control Database.
- As these IP appliance IDs are detected the ConvergenceTP Bridge queries the Access Control Database for the enrolled card number for that IP Appliance ID.
- The card number returned from the query is then forwarded to the location where the IP appliance ID was received where it is passed back into the Access Control System as 26 bit Wiegand data.
- The Access Control System then decides if the door, gate, etc. is unlocked/opened.
- The Access Control System logs the IP appliance grant or rejected status, providing the user with a complete audit trail consistent with their conventional badge swipe accesses.
- License plates can now be used as access control badges.
- Facial IDs can now be used directly as credentials or used in conjunction with badge swipes as part of multi-factor authentication.
- RFID tags and barcode scans can now be tracked using the access control system.
- The user Access Control System becomes the single point of control and monitoring for all access events within the user’s IP enabled enterprise.
